PROGRAM SPECIALIST II - STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

The Program Specialist II manages, consults with, and assists Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Severe special education teachers in coordinating appropriate programs and services for students with designated Special Education needs.  Attends Individual Education Plan Meetings to ensure that the legal and contractual services are adequately provided to students.  The Program Specialist II is directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent, Student Support Services.

Under the direction of the School Principal, instruct assigned students in an elementary school in accordance with Simi Valley Unified School District policies and procedures; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; guide students in learning subject matter and skills in compliance with identified standards of achievement; establish good relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.

SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST - 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR

Provide a comprehensive program, which will emphasize the identification of needs and provide for remediation of speech and oral language. Initiate a general screening program. Diagnose and identify children and conduct the remediation program. Complete all required reports and serve as a liaison to special programs.  See attached flier for details.
