Monte Vista School
Monte Vista School offers a personalized, alternative educational option allowing students to learn at their own pace in a caring and supportive environment. Monte Vista is located on a beautiful campus at 1220 Fourth Street in Simi Valley and includes self-paced and online learning. Monte Vista may meet the needs of both students in general education and with an IEP as determined at the IEP Team meeting. To find out more about this program or to schedule a campus tour, contact Monte Vista at (805) 579-6326.
Home Hospital Instruction
Assistance may be provided for students who are experiencing health problems that interfere with their school attendance. Home hospital Instruction is a temporary solution intended to help a student address his/her medical needs while maintaining his/her course of study while s/he cannot physically attend a school campus. Home hospital Instruction requires a doctor order. Contact your school nurse for more information.
After recommendation and approval by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services, a student may receive in-home teaching for a maximum of five hours per week. This option is recommended only when specific SVUSD criteria are met and requires parental involvement to meet educational requirements. The student will receive credit for work completed during this time; however, if the student is unable to actively work with the home teacher, the option will be re-examined and another educational avenue may be selected.
Home Hospital Instruction for Students with Disabilities
Home hospital instruction for students with disabilities is similar to home hospital instruction for other students but may include services for students to work toward their IEP goals. Home hospital instruction for students with disabilities must be recommended by the IEP or 504 Team based on a student's needs. Contact your student’s special education or 504 case manager for more information about Home Hospital Teaching and whether or not your child qualifies..
For additional information about any of these services, contact Student Support Services at 805.306.4500 Ext.4313.

Simi Valley Schools offer several programs for students in general education and special education. At the elementary level, we offer an exploratory campus and supportive staff through Monte Vista. We also offer one-to-one teaching for qualifying students. Our secondary programs offer college preparatory coursework, online classes, career education and extracurricular programs.
