HOW DO PROGRAM SPECIALISTS HELP STUDENTS?

Our amazing team of Program Specialists are a wonderful resource, in addition to your school site principal or case manager. Specifically, our Program Specialists:

  • Direct services for students including the identification, diagnosis, follow-up and referral of students with problems related to attendance, mental health or learning disabilities.
  • Coordinate Special Education student placements and services.
  • Collaborate with staff regarding the Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtI2) process.
  • Provide or recommend appropriate services for groups of exceptional students and their parents.
  • Recommend placement of individual students with special needs.
  • Develop special programs and curriculum for Special Day class and RSP students.
  • Provide special consultation and case conferences with student services personnel.
  • Assist in implementing California and Federal regulations and developing special education programs.
  • Develop, provide and determine needs for professional development activities in Special Education and Response to Instruction and Intervention.
