Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten Enrollment Information
Please use the links below to download the TK Enrollment Packets (English or Spanish), print and return to the District Office with the required attached documentation. We will make copies of the original documents for you at the District Office. If you cannot print the enrollment packet, we can provide you with a printed packet at the District Office. The District Office is located at 101 West Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA, 93065. We are two blocks west of Madera Road, past Costco. Our office is open for TK business from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. WE WILL BEGIN ACCEPTING TK ENROLLMENT PACKETS ON AND AFTER JANUARY 5, 2026. Please be advised that in January and February the office gets busy with families submitting TK Enrollment Packets and you may need to wait for service.
Priority enrollment is open until March 20, 2026. Priority enrollment provides families with the best opportunity to be placed at their neighborhood or sibling attended school. However, class size and classroom space will determine enrollment capacity. Students whose enrollment packets are received after March 20, 2026 will be placed in TK classes based on the availability of space remaining.
IMPORTANT: IF YOUR CHILD HAS AN INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLAN (IEP) YOU MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF THE IEP WITH YOUR SUBMITTED TK PACKET.
Please contact Sendy Franco Oceguera in Education Services at (805) 306-4500, Extension 4207, for assistance or to answer any questions about the TK enrollment process.

Enrollment in Your Neighborhood School
Enrollment in your neighborhood school begins February 9, 2026. Just go to your school and get the needed forms and information. They will be happy to help you. We do ask that you enroll them as soon as possible because it helps us in planning for staffing needs for the upcoming year. If you need to see which school is your neighborhood school, this is the link for the Boundary Maps. Thank you and we cannot wait to meet you!
Enrollment in School of Choice/Application
Almost all of our Simi Valley Schools are considered School of Choice (SOC). (The standing exceptions to SOC are Hollow Hills Elementary School and Vista Elementary School, which are Fundamental schools; Arroyo Elementary School's Dual Language Academy; and Santa Susana High School, which is a magnet school.) As long as the school is not filled to its capacity with existing students and incoming neighborhood students, students living outside the neighborhood boundaries of a school may apply to enroll in that school, and the school may accept these students until the school is filled to capacity. If there are more applications than there are available spots for interested students, the school will conduct a random lottery to select the number of students they are able to accept.
Access the School of Choice Application Here
SOC applications must be submitted online. Students living in a school's boundary area have first priority and do not need to complete a SOC application.
Enrollment in a Specialized Program/School
Required Documentation for Entering School
- COPY of Original Birth Certificate: This is the official certificate issued by the county of your child's birth. It usually has a raised seal on it. This is NOT the certificate the hospital issues to you upon birth.
- Proof of Residency: A current utility bill (electric, gas or water) or a lease or rental agreement.
- Immunizations: Up-to-date for ALL students, including Transitional and Kindergarten programs. (Please see the Parent's Guide to Immunizations for Entering Schools link here for detailed information on what immunizations are required and when.)
- Oral Health Assessment Form: Completed by your dentist, this form is required for all Kindergarten students. An oral health assessment conducted up to a year before that start of kindergarten, or by May 31 of your child’s Kindergarten year, satisfies this requirement.
- Report of Health Examination Form: Recommended for enrollment into Kindergarten.
