Career Education

Our Pathways Programs Lead the Way to Rewarding Careers

Simi Valley Unified School District's middle and high schools, along with the Simi Institute for Careers & Education, are the countywide leaders in College and Career Ready programs. After receiving several state and federal grants totaling more than $3 million, we created 25 Pathways programs from 14 Industry Sectors to help lead our students into a college-and-career-focused future. We will host our annual Pathways Expo in February 2018. More information will come soon.

Students in Entrepreneurship at Simi Valley High School participated in the Situation Room Experience at the Reagan Library on October 4, 2016. The Experience places the students in roles as government officials, medical experts, and members of the press as they deal with crisis -- an assassination attempt on the President. The physical location is the actual Situation Room used in the White House from 1961 until 2006, which is installed in the Library. Students rated it a 5 out of 5, so our thanks goes to the Reagan Library and its staff for creating a valuable, fun, and highly engaging learning experience that teaches crisis management, problem solving, and critical thinking.

Simi Valley Schools thanks the Ventura County Workforce Investment Board for your partnership!
