Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP)
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) is a state program that provides out-of-school time services for students. The purpose of ELOP is to provide qualifying children in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade with high-quality educational opportunities beyond the school day including afterschool and intersession enrichment programs. Qualifying participants receive all services at NO COST to parents. Eligibility must be confirmed annually.
Local educational agencies must operate the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program pursuant to the requirements in California Education Code Section 46120, including the development of a program plan. The program plan must be approved by the Local Educational Agency's (LEA) Governing Board in a public meeting and posted on the LEA's website.
